About the program

Powering Livelihoods, a partnership between Villgro and CEEW, supports enterprises to deploy Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) solutions to uplift millions of livelihoods across rural India.

Between 2020-23, the initiative supported 14 enterprises, facilitated ~11,500 tech deployments, and enabled ~19,123 livelihoods with 71% being women.

Business growth for enterprises deploying DRE livelihood solutions through customised gender-smart incubation

Seed funding up to INR 25 lakhs.

Stakeholder advocacy: Engage with financiers, investors, and policymakers using impact evidence to unlock support for DRE innovations

Generate evidence-driven impact to showcase scalability for enterprises

Unlock credit for end-user financing to ensure individuals in rural areas have the resources to adopt clean energy solutions

For-profit entities with the potential to positively impact rural livelihoods

Enterprises using Renewable Energy (RE) solutions OR enterprises that are willing to integrate RE in solutions

Women-led enterprises are encouraged to submit applications

Enterprises with a strong gender-inclusive solution will be given preference OR enterprises willing to promote gender inclusivity through their business.
