Your business must have high impact on rural or urban poor
Unless otherwise specified, we invite pitches in the sectors of healthcare, education and agriculture
Your enterprise must have a prototype of its product or service and has conducted a significant number of pilots in the field, or must be already in operation. It must have conducted one pilot at least.
Enterprises which have been in operation for more than 3 years from the date of the pitch competition will not be considered.
Submissions may be entered as individuals or teams (max. 4). Only the individual or the team members who have registered may pitch to the panel of judges and answer questions
You must apply online and be present to pitch. You will be notified ahead of time if you are selected to pitch.
If you are not selected to pitch, you are still invited to attend Unconvention, where you will have the opportunity to meet other entrepreneurs and hear about their work, and network with investors, partners, and others

The Villgro team will review your application, using basic filters, such as the novelty of the idea, business viability, sector mandate-fit, entrepreneur credentials
Phone interview with the applicants who make it to the first shortlist. Announcement of the pitch finalists based on the results from the phone interview.
Finalists pitch at an Unconvention event to a jury of investors and entrepreneurs, who evaluate the business, with the winners announced at the event itself.
All applicants are informed about the results of our screening, whether or not they make it to the next round.
** Given the number of applications we receive, it is difficult for us to provide individual feedback on each application. That said, we will try our best to respond to your requests for feedback. One way to get feedback is to use the networking sessions at Unconvention to talk to our mentors and investment managers.
